A lot of people say these videos don't help, that watching a video won't change anything, and that the people who do want to cause a change go out and do it and that spreading awareness won't help because it won't inspire the people who are apathetic.
There is a hadith by Prophet Muhammad (SAW) that indicates there is some benefit to sharing these activist videos:
"If one of you sees something wrong, let him change it with his hand; if he cannot, then with his tongue; if he cannot, then with his heart and this is the weakest faith."

Of course it's better to do something, but if you're not going to go out and protest/donate/pass around petitions, then at least hate what this horrible man has done and share this video with others.
